Shri Pattabhi – The Man of a Big Saga
Ambika Ananta
SHRI PATTABHI
In his soul there is eternal music divine
He turned his poetic heart into a violin
And played ‘twelve ragas’ so very fine …
His pulse danced in rhythm
He himself became a poem….!!
He had empathy and sympathy
Even as a child of tender age
So found a perfect match
In the peace and bliss of ‘Shanti Niketan’
The abode of the poet par excellence –
Gurudev Rabindranath,
It was a soothing dream – life
For his poetic, sensitive heart,
Which already is in love with the Muse…!!
Though a globe trotter
Going around the world
He has his moorings only here!
He took refuge in his poetry and pictures
When life gave him unreasonable punishments!
He believes in the unseen hand of the
‘Script writer’ up above
with great courage and grace, through all the
dire straits, he won over!
He remains till date as a picture of dignity
Self-esteem and solemnity!
At this mellow, ripe age, he sees the
beauty beyond the mundane life …..
after seeing life in all its color and hue
Grand Old Shri Pattabhi,
Though he sees ‘death’ fearlessly as a creative gift
He has many years to go, to take it!
He has the poetic vision
As large as the sky
And changed the trend of writing
To something mighty and high!
He is the ‘man of a big saga’
His life itself is ‘a moving raga’
He is a living legend
For his fame and name there is no end …!!
