Valley of Flowers

- By Pushpa Suri

VALLEY OF FLOWERS

Is there a valley of flowers on this earth Where
flowers of every colour, shape and fragrance
Sway in the wind where each one
Wishes to catch your eye
Saying” I am the one,” I am the one
Who is the most beautiful, and the loving
Come near me! I am better!

My fragrance you will enjoy
Its memory will remain it is the same
You will inhale, when gates of heaven you enter.
The winds know that they have to blow
Towards you only the finest
For it is you who can pick only the best
Even if there is a crowd of many
Your eyes will fall on only the loveliest
For have you not been trained over years
To pick the best
And leave the rest?

For even the flowers they invite
You to cares, them and cajole them.
For they also at times get lonely
Waiting for the human aroma
Which they have learnt to accept.
