Yearning
- Ambika Ananth
YEARNING
This is a poem written in memory of my dear mother...
I hear in my heart
the primal music
of your pulse
the lullaby I heard in the warm liquid cradle
of your womb,
I feel your taproot running and warming my veins The soft clay you anointed with
life
is hardened now,
yet brittle
I wait for you to soften me again,
but in vain
the waiting continues
for the celestial cycle
the dance of life to begin again for me from you... in a different time
I wait in silence
Is there a meeting point...
shining far away are two purple stars. . .
I see your longing
moist eyes.
