When
you Write
-
Dr. Rao K. Velchala
O,
Writer!
When
you write
Write
not like writing but like painting.
Let
your script be the flowers,
Content,
the fragrances.
Write
your thoughts as the very feelings,
The
emotions, the sentiments,
Bleeding,
pleading, touching, moving,
pulsating.
Write
not, like you are writing
But
like your very feelings are writing.
Write
as a lover writes to a lover
tensely,
intensely,
A
friend to a friend, a comrade to a comrade
Feelingly,
healingly,
Write
not like writing an idea but an ideal,
Not
as logic but as magic.
Write
something fresh, afresh
Verily
the lush to refresh,
To
make the reader wish, wish and wish.
Write
like the upswing of a spring,
A
note of music’s alighting ring.
Write
to elevate, enlighten, enrapture,
Like
the heart itself writing to heart,
soul
to soul.
Not
like writing with ink, but with "drink"
As
"Khayyam" wrote his "Omar Khayyam".
O
Writer!
Writing
is not mere writing
But
creating, discovering, inventing, innovating,
Telling
something new, novel and unique
Producing
splendor
to
make the listener wonder.
Writing
is to paint the real as the ideal,
The
ideal as the real,
The
fact as the fantasy,
The
fantasy as the fact,
The
truth as the myth
The
myth as the truth,
The
logic as the magic,
The
magic as the logic.
Otherwise,
O Writer!
Why
write at all something light
Like
unveiling the eve, even before the eve,
Night,
even before the night.
And
why write poetry at all
Otherwise
an angel
To
look like a dipping kite
Sliding
and slipping from the celestial height?
And
why still fight on the right to write
As
if it is the ‘Birth Right’,
"A
Fundamental Right"?
